As a follow up to the event we plan on using the blog as a platform for relevant posts from a variety of contributors to continue some of our conversations around human remains and mobility. As it seems pertinent, Kristin Hussey (one of the organisers) has recently written for the Journal of Victorian Culture online about Victorian eye specimens in London’s medical museums:
Thank you so much to everyone who came along, as speakers and as attendees, for making it such a wonderful and fascinating two-days. We can’t think of a better way to sum up some of the themes and conversations than with this fantastic visual event diary created by the talented and fabulous Lucy Lyons.
We are hoping to build on the conversations here on the blog, so please do check back for more content in the future!
Please see link below for our conference pack including schedule, abstracts and speaker biographies. We are particularly excited for the social events line up, including a speakers’ dinner, drinks reception on the 18th, a specimen drawing workshop with medical artist Lucy Lyons, and a presentation by Royal College of Surgeons archivist Louise King.
It’s finally almost here! We are busy finalising our schedule and programmes, and we are so looking forward to welcoming everyone to Barts Pathology Museum and the Royal College of Surgeons! Just a quick reminder- if you are no longer able to join us, please do let us know as we have a considerable waiting list.
It’s going to be a fantastic two days and we are so excited to meet everyone!
If you are no longer able to attend, please do let us know as there is a considerable waiting list for tickets. If you would like to be added to the waiting list, please email us at CCCconference@gmail.com
